Charlottesville may become the second city in Virginia, following Arlington, to adopt ranked-choice voting for future city elections. If the ordinance passes, it would go into effect for the 2025 election.

If City Council decides to vote this new system into effect, state and national ballots will still follow the traditional format.

Small steps. Even if its only at the city level, that could go a long way in making voters aware that FPTP is not the only option.
