    It glosses over the problem of gerrymandering, but otherwise has the right idea. It’s also important to support the candidates who reflect your values and show up to vote for them in the primaries. Then vote for the one closest to your values in the general even if not totally aligned. If enough people do this things gradually move toward the popular consensus–not in one election cycle, but over time. If not enough people do this, things move to the consensus of those with money and influence.
