Americans bombing people, story of my life on this planet. I am tired. Someone stop them.
God damn America. We’re such fucking scumbags dude. Fuck our imperialism.
Look forward to further fascist policies domestically now. Anyone against Trump now is going to get labeled an enemy of the state during war time.
We are so fucking dumb and bloodthirsty. This is just 2003 but somehow with an even dumber president and far far less allies.
“[…] four [countries] contributed troops to the invasion force (the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). An additional 37 countries provided some number of troops to support military operations after the invasion was complete.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_of_the_willing_(Iraq_War))
Far far less for sure. Although are quite some far right leaders in Europe right now. Perhaps Hungary and Italy are on their way already.
Hungary is busy trying to set off another Balkan conflict
Yeah. My point is more so about how America is viewed by the rest of the world and it’s Allie’s today in comparison to Iraq. We are far far less respected. World’s done with pretending to believe our lies.
I guess the countries sceptical or hostile back than didn’t really have much reason to change their mind about us. But Trump sure did a lot of damage to the relationship with befriended countries, guess all he has left are strategic allies with a similar world view. But I guess that’s what autocrats want after all. Who needs friends if you’ve got power. But for me personally, even though my view on american people didn’t change much my desire to support them definitely increased. If i were to meet someone from the US tomorrow that person would likely get a better treatment from me than if I had met him a few years ago. Not that i feel sorry for them or anything, but i just am really glad im not in their shoes. Had a colleague from Russia years ago, who left a hostile nation behind. Think I’d feel similarly for someone migrating from the US.
Unpopular opinion. But we’d be here if Trump was never elected. The US has wanted reason to invade Iran for decades. Trump definitely does damage to America’s image. But, as far the the third world’s image of America, no one did more damage than Biden did with his Genocide of Gaza.
The main point being. US imperialism is not directed by the president alone. It is directed by Americas defense industry and military industrial complex. I think the main difference between Trump or a Biden/Harris would be the aesthetics. And maybe going through the steps of Congress. But this war is what Imperialism is demanding.
I agree, the us’ imperialism is driven by a lot more than just a few individuals at the top. The ‘aesthetics’ would likely have kept a lot more allies on board. But the biggest change I see is how the powers driving the country are not only hurting a lot of people outside of the US (which goes for most developed countries), but is also more and more hurting people inside the US (similar to oppression in autocratic countries).
As far as the war in Iran goes I’m not so sure, if Democrats would have continuously stayed in power, the deal would most likely be up. But then the defense industry would still push for war somewhere else, so who knows what the world would have looked like. I’m not convinced it would look better.
Exactly. There’s a reason Dem leadership isn’t condemning this.
Yeah. American foreign policy is always bipartisan. How they decide to spin it is the only difference between parties.
Why would they? AIPAC wants this and funds both sides to they always get what they want.
Trump: “TIME FOR PEACE”
Incredible thing to say after willingly choosing to attack someone. American hypocrisy at its finest.
“Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity”.
Dude on CNN talking about how “now we are looking for Iran to come to the table for diplomacy”. They are really trying to set up concent for further involvement.
I feel like I’m losing my mind watching all news media. So just a reminder for people.
Iran attacked no one until they were first attacked by Israel. They literally got attacked by Israel days before a diplomatic talk scheduled with the US. I’m losing my mind over how blatantly our media manufactures concent for war.
Country gets bombed, then gets bombed cause they got bombed, and the excuse is “we think that they have nukes”… https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/480/980/897.gif
Dude on CNN talking about how “now we are looking for Iran to come to the table for diplomacy”.
I just can’t understand how someone can have such low self-awareness. We just seem to have pulled off an attack on Iran that likely dwarfs the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that pulled us into WW2. The idea that anyone would be remotely interested in peace talks after such an attack is just flabbergasting.
It’s not that. They are forming a narrative for the American public’s concent. It’s not that Trump is dumb. It’s not that the news media is dumb. It’s that they think the American public is dumb (and they are).
We aren’t at the point of “we are a superior race and need to kill all these Muslims” yet. So we still attempt to justify our absolutely unjustifiable actions. At least to the dumbest people of American. That’s who this is for. No one else.
punches you in the face and shoots your dog
Woah buddy, now is the part where we stop fighting and call a truce!
The US deserves every bit of blowback that we get for continuing to torment the rest of the world. If this escalates we deserve every single casualty that we incur. I will not celebrate deaths, injuries or damage, but everything that US armed forces and the US people suffer as a result is justified. We will be paying for our unjustified aggression for decades if not forever. I passionately hate this country, our government, both political parties, the prevailing culture and a good number of our stupid people.
I will not celebrate deaths, injuries or damage,
I will. If Americans don’t stop this fast, I’ll move decisively to team “Death to America”.
Speaking to the United Nations Security Council on Friday, the head of the [International Atomic Energy Agency] once again called for “maximum restraint” in the conflict to avoid further escalation.
“Armed attack for nuclear facilities should never take place and could result in radioactive releases with great consequences within and beyond boundaries of the state which has been attacked,” said Rafael Grossi, its director general.
The attacks so far have caused a “sharp degradation to nuclear safety and security in Iran,” he said. “Though they have not so far led to a radiological release affecting the public, there is a danger this could occur.”
How careful do you suppose they are with targeting?
Edit: quote source
In history class i regularly heard about people leaving warmongering countries, not as refugees but as economic migrants. I don’t know your personal situation, but this is a friendly reminder it is possible you end up regretting you stayed. There might not be a better time to leave.
I would love to but there’s no way i could afford to get out.
Unfortunately, those with the material means to be able to move them and their family to another country are the ones least likely needing to do that.
Someone needs to take out that regime. A decapitation strike. Not talking about Iran.
The entire US government is behind these attacks, the dems aren’t even pushing back in the slightest
Absolutely agree. The entire US government seems to be united in their fervor to attack and eventually control or destroy Iran.
Someone has to.
A decapitating strike to the regime of Iran also seems fair. Maybe not according to international law but my moral compass says it’d be a win for humanity.
Trump’s getting closer to being able to launch the nuke he wanted to in his first presidency. How exciting for him.
Fallout, but we aren’t ready yet. Where is Valt-Tec when you need them?
I’d prefer nothing over Vault-Tec to be fair
At least you could die to really sadistic experiments instead of ghouling on the surface.
China needs to start caring about how these actions from the US are threatening it’s own stability. I don’t want war with China. But there is a point where they will be forced to take actual action to defend their allies. And that’s what the US is banking on. They want world war. This is another step towards that.
China doesn’t want to make the same mistake as the USSR which is expending geopolitical power to maintain an entire hegemony against the USA. They’re content with making money and don’t spend a lot of energy keeping extreme espionage on every country like the USA does.
China knows the US will take the military option if confronted, which is to their disadvantage, so they’ll find every alternative path or method.
Biggest example is Pakistan. Its a massive CPEC project and defense partner, yet the military leadership in charge is basically a US lapdog because China knows if they try to pull the same regime change shenanigans, its just gonna end up like USSR vs USA 2 with a crap ton of proxy wars everywhere.
I think their longterm goal is to just slowly erode at the global economy. Even if the US owns the regime in the country, a significant portion of money will be going to China. They could choose to eventually use that power to reinforce their allies, but I think that’s still like 20+ years down the line.
China also has relations with Israel, they will most likely try and remain neutral (or at least try to look that way) just like they’re (acting as if they’re) neutral in the war in Ukraine.
Yeah. You’re not wrong. China has trade with everyone. It’s why they always just “condemn” and then continue trading. My point is that at some point they will have to take action in defense of their Allie’s at the US keeps escalating.
