    I’ll save you a click, they’re sulfur crystals. This is interesting because although they can naturally form in volcanic regions this area is non-volcanic. The other way they naturally form is via microbial actions which may offer a clue about Mars past.

      God damn you I was only going to read the headline and then tell everyone I know that we finally discovered kyber crystals. Now I have to read about boring regular science

        Fun Fact: Yellow kyber crystals got their unique color from the hardening of Wookiee urine from the mountains of Kashyyyk. It can also be used for Porg banquets due to its salty taste and rough texture.
