Stepping in where states are letting or even making workers suffer.

Yeah, if one person is fired from the company the default thought in Japan is that person must have done something very wrong to even get to that place, as it’s quite rare for fulltime salaried employees.
If a group of people are laid off, in Japanese culture that reflects very poorly on the company, suggesting that management was irresponsible to lead the company into this situation.
An official™ act.
Yeah, what is this? The ICE commits fraud, then blames it on the prospective students that their visas are fraudulent?
How big the front side screen was and if it was a colour display? Unless you liked the look of phone that only had LEDs showing the time on the front.
What ringtones it had (remember this was the age of $1.99 ringtones).
Speed/specs wasn’t too much of a factor as much as looks. As long as it made calls, did texts, play Snake and if you could afford cellular data then receive emails and do light websurfing then it was good enough.
Oh, and in this age the smaller and more compact the phones were the better. Only with smartphones did the trend go into reverse.
That’s exactly my point, it’s not one piece of paperwork, it’s an entire record keeping process that’s screwed up.
Boeing has broken so many rules, what’s another, at this point this incident is irrelevant.
The fact that one missed piece of paperwork is not what caused this, even if it is the trigger. The company focusing on minimizing paper trail and fudging paperwork to pass regulations is what caused it.
They talked about all the important issues, like golf and porn star sex.
Yeah the Constitution don’t say anything bout AI so according to the originalists, companies can do anything they want, lol.
Trump was already booked as Inmate P01135809 in the Georgia election subversion case.
Legislating? Not when Republicans have a hold on the house, or the Senate.
You overestimate the risk of this specific event. I do think the DNC and all Americans need a wakeup call before November and this may or may not be it, but the debate is forgettable in 1 week whereas the consequences of these Supreme Court decisions or going to be with us for years to come.
Democrats have other opportunities to energize their base, it’s up to them to use these opportunities, and avoid letting Trump dominate every election conversation.
MFW American democracy is being gutted to pieces by the SCOTUS.
The majority opinion notes that the Supreme Court should be the one that makes these technical judgements on behalf of these agencies, despite that opinion itself containing a technical mistake…
I’d think that for a blanket no-homelessness policy to be even reasonably humane, each person would need a right of address, even a 50 sqft. parcel of public land in/by the town of choosing which they can call their domicile.
Same thing in BC… In the Prince George encapment case, it was ruled that unless there are enough shelter beds that are sufficiently accessible by the affected population, they are allowed to stay in the Lower Patricia encampment.
Needless to say there was fierce competition. The pity I feel for Americans is to a level I feel physically sick.
There’s one way to fix this… elect a landslide blue majority in the HoR and Senate and redefine explicitly the role of every federal agency. That way Republicans in the future can’t weaponize doing nothing as easily.
Pretty standard move in Parliamentary Politics.
I bet Truss, Sunak and their ilk with find lots of work as talking heads on American and British conservative shows.
