Don’t lie to your wife. Just say the truth, if she can’t handle it then you picked the wrong person to get married to.

Given the greentext origin, I wonder if his wife was the first woman to give him the time of day and the dynamics of their relationship consist of him fearing that she might leave and he’ll revert to incelhood

I mean if I spent a lot of time and money keeping something clean and well maintained I’d be pretty fuckin upset if someone completely trashed it.

It doesn’t matter what it is. It’s something important to me and if you can’t accept and respect that I think you’re the bigger problem here.

For small groups? 30 people (over 8 of whom are children) in a residential pool sounds absolutely gross even if it’s not my pool and I’m not cleaning it.

The story mentions one in diapers but the other part speaks about kids far more active (so older) than toddlers.

You may not have kids, so just to let you know: they usually don’t just piss in pools anymore as soon as they’re out of diapers which usually is at 2 or 3 years old.

I mean my house isn’t designed for 30 people and 10 children, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t put my panties on and clean the house before an after a get together to build relationships.

Hm, didn’t know my comment mentioned that I wouldn’t clean my house before a party. It’s almost as if you’re trying to imply I said something I didn’t so that my comment appears unreasonable.

I will say it again: 30 people in a residential pool (described as small in the post) is disgusting. It has nothing to do with the house, the backyard, the barbecue, the pets, the grass, the carpet, etc. It has nothing to do with anything except the pool and its capacity.

Well usually you clean a house/pool/yard before having people over… your comment IS unreasonable…. Since cleaning is an issue or something…?

30 people in a residential pool (described as small in the post) is disgusting. It has nothing to do with the house, the backyard, the barbecue, the pets, the grass, the carpet, etc. It has nothing to do with anything except the pool and its capacity.

You mean like a yard/house not having the capacity of the same amount and it gets dirty and needs to be cleaned up…? Grass will get wrecked, the bbq isn’t meant to cook for 30 people and needs to be cleaned it’ll get disgusting too. The carpet will need to be vacuumed too… are you seriously afraid of doing regular chores more frequently or something…? Because yeah this is also unreasonable….

Having 30 people on apartment is disgusting as well, the air gets stale, they drop stuff… see how this asinine thought can apply to ANYTHING, which makes it hella unreasonable…. All it is, is excuses to not socialize…….

Dude it’s a pool, it gets dirty. So what you need to clean it twice a week instead of once a month. You lazy? Don’t want to build relationships or something? There’s nothing disgusting about having a short party that makes a mess you need to deal with.

Its called having friends and building relationships, do you think that requires no works or something…? Sometimes you need to dirty your pool/house/yard to not be a basement troll. So yeah again…. Yeah… your comment is unreasonable since you’re saying everyone needs to stay in their basement and not make a mess or have fun lmfao.

Is all your furniture wrapped in plastic so it can’t get dirty? Because that’s the attitude you’re exuding here……. Lmfao.

It’s not about the pool, it’s about the grossness of being so close to others. This just tells me you’ve never been to a large party, otherwise you would obviously understand the need to have enough space.

I have been to cramped weddings, to parties of multiple hundreds of people for which there was not enough room. It is hot, it is smelly, it is humid, it is gross. A pool is worse. It has nothing to do with me having to clean.

A pool party I attend as a guest that does not have the room for those guests is gross. I don’t care about cleaning. It’s about capacity.

It’s called temporary discomfort to build relationships.

Go back to your basement troglodyte.

Yeah cramped buildings can have stale air and messes, is it gonna kill you or something…. go clutch your pearls lmfao.

Wow, you are so mad! Who knew your life is so unfulfilling that you need to cope like this.

Have fun with your pool party rashes, children screaming, and spilled bowls of chips, I’ll be getting drunk and high while blasting vaporwave and playing crokinole with friends.

Right? To each their own, but if I had a pool, I’d be inviting friends and family over to enjoy it all the time. I bet those kids had a blast and made some fun memories.

Tbh, I think I get it. Some people really get off on maintaining something in pristine condition. This is like an extremely expensive Bonsai tree or rock garden.

Same reason my wife wants at least 80m² of living space despite spending her time sitting on the corner of one chair looking at her phone : it feels nice to know you have it.

80m² = 860ft² for those of us in countries who perpetuate inferior measurement systems.

860ft² is extremely small compared to the average American home of 2,480ft².

Oh yeah, for reference it’s a moderately sized flat for a family of four in a French city.
My dad has more of a country house with the huge park and trees and small lake… and still she only really needs her phone and a chair. Go figure.

No nappies in the pool is a reasonable rule. Lying to your wife is unreasonable. Also if you’re a grown adult with an able body you should be able to defend your face from children. The key is to be gentle but firm. Children thrive on well established and reasonable boundaries.
