I really wonder what happens if/ when the AMOC collapses.
Do we get something similar to the “eye” on Jupiter, where there becomes this kind of “permanent hurricane” in the gulf because it can no-longer dissipate heat to the north? And its just like, shitting storms into the south and midwest and up the eastern sea-board as a means of moving energy poleward.
Probably not; hurricanes tend to move and break up once over land.
That’s true, but it’s mostly because they’re not where there’s a lot of water. I think op is saying since there’s more moisture in the air, will it ever dissipate, even over land?
