Shooting a cowering, unarmed 911 caller in the head, in her home, for absolutely no reason … that’s just not a training issue.
So there is a line they won’t cross. I guess that’s something. I’d say it’s the bare minimum but it falls well short of that mark.
I doubt it’s a moral line. Seems like a pragmatic stance that standing behind him isn’t worth the bad PR they’d get for doing it. It’s certainly something, at least.
This is encouraging news because it means the police unions no longer feel immune to public reaction. It’s nice to see them scared for once.
Don’t worry; if he sees jail time (and given how other similar cases have gone, he won’t) he’ll have a nice cushy job waiting for him at the Sheriff’s office the next county over when he gets out.

Nah, I’m pretty confident he’ll get prison time. This incident has about as much coverage as George Floyd had. You’re pretty fucked if your department and union are trying to distance themselves from you. They’ll make sure he falls to save face.
