November could determine the future of voting in US elections
That too.
I voted for it. Seems the best way to avoid electing extremists. Some 30% of polled respondents say it’s too confusing, but I think they’ll figure it out
It’s easier to understand when you have a ballot in hand.
Portland is doing it for the first time for our new city government setup:
If ranked choice is not in our future, our future is dire. If it’s “too difficult”, we shouldn’t even be allowed to vote.
It’s not too difficult, they’re just saying that because it interferes with their power and gives some measure of it back to the voters.
I have no doubt there are ordinary people saying this, but yes, they are probably just regurgitating the lies that are fed to them (by the usual suspects). It is not difficult, they’ve never experienced it, but they are still afraid of it (surprise).
We have ranked choice voting for my city. I wish we had it for state elections too!
