That explains why that one junior developer that keeps force-pushing and keeps breaking my build server went into hiding
I had one like that too. We had to disable force-push on GitLab because our commits kept on disappearing.
Force push enabled in a team environment is asking for trouble.
“Force push with lease” in feature-branches that are controlled by 1 person only is fine though.
“That’s odd, for some reason it keeps showing us pictures of police officers!”
Why though? What action can you take on “Dave is 50% more likely to murder than Jim”?
Murders are too rare for this to be remotely useful.
So they can use it to dramatically expand data collection “to achieve 0 murders”, and before you know it everyone’s getting disappeared by the thought police.
