Summary

Rural Texas is struggling to contain its worst measles outbreak in 30 years due to crumbling public health infrastructure, hospital shortages, and limited medical staff.

The outbreak, concentrated in unvaccinated communities, has sickened nearly 200 people and caused one child’s death.

Local health officials rely on makeshift solutions and long-distance testing while facing slow state and federal support.

Funding from pandemic-era grants helped some areas, but overall investment remains low, leaving rural communities vulnerable to future outbreaks.

Experts warn proactive vaccination efforts should have started earlier.

By the time the population at highest risk is able to vote, Trump and RFK Jr will be too old to be alive. Unless the voting-eligible parents make the obvious connection between MAGA policy and the well-being of their kids, there won’t be any repercussions to the ruling elite for sick and dead children in rural Texas. Based on shit I saw along rural roads and on FB before I completely abandoned that platform, “Jesus has this,” so no need to worry, I guess.

I assure you at least half will continue to support anti-vaccination nonsense at adults based on survivorship bias alone.

I believe it’s something like 75% of children that grow up to be just as ignorant as their parents.
