What’s the source on this? If we allow ourselves to post stories in the form of screenshots, that’s handy for putting it all together but it opens the door for misinformation.

We need to include sources, ideally right in the images. So wherever the image is shared, it’s got the reference a person can check.

“If” WW3 is actually starting, we all (no matter where we are) need to do more to battle misinformation. Not saying this is misinformation. But by being shared without sources, it contributes to an information ecosystem where misinformation can thrive.

      Joins NCD

      Demands cited sources

Bruh, this is a shitposting community. Maybe it’s real, maybe it isn’t. Maybe it was revealed to me in a dream.

Here’s your source. And a temporary ban. This place isn’t for you. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/17/world/asia/china-philippines-boats-collide.html

Just to be clear, asking for context so you can join the joke/discussion/sex party is always acceptable. What this person is doing, is not.

I see what you mean, like if you browse /all. I feel like that’s the risk you take if you browse /all. Occasionally you might find a community that’s not your cup of tea.

If they don’t want to see NCD they can block it. I’m not enforcing stupid ass rules that shitposts and memes need citable sources. I’d rather just ban all the chuds
