    But, the world would actually have to care about catching them. There’s already tons of rape kits that go unprocessed and rape reports that go unexamined. We don’t need better science. We need better people.

    This is good news for future victims, despite a sibling comment about unprocessed rape kits. The more we can do to catch perpetrators the better.

    Isn’t the issue (when it comes to rape), proving that someone did or did not consent to sex? That’s assuming the victim comes forward, which is already hard enough.

    The rapist could say “Yes, we had sex, and it was consensual. It’s not my fault that she had regrets afterward.”

    How do you prove that it wasn’t? That’s a huge legal hurdle.
