Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday signaled that he was moving ahead with U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to transfer the Palestinian population out of Gaza, calling it “the only viable plan to enable a different future” for the region.

I didn’t want the genocide. I warned that letting Trump come to power was inevitably going to make the genocide much worse, and people tried at length to educate me out of it, talking down to me a lot like how you are doing right now.

I am in no way happy to be proven right now that the genocide already in progress has accelerated substantially and its finish line is in sight. I’m making dark jokes about it because that is the only way I can cope with the horror, and avoid simply giving you abuse.

You helped this to happen, in some small and trivial way, if you were one of the people advocating before the election for anyone not to support Harris because of some theory giving her responsibility for the war in Gaza. I have no idea if you were or not, I just know the nature of you jumping into this conversation. You can rationalize however you like, or try to take a higher moral position and construct this self-righteous pretense that it was all the smoke detector supporters’ fault. Words are slippery things and you can do whatever you want with them. I’ve reached the end of my ability to talk about it with you.

STOP CONFLATING speaking up about a genocide with not supporting Harris.

I voted for Harris, people like me continually criticized Biden and Harris for refusing to do shit to about the Palestinian Genocide (to the point that the DNC refused to even allow a Palestinian to speak at the convention despite giving ample stage time to Republicans ???) because we knew it would endanger Harris’s chance of winning with voters who were intimately connected with the horror of the genocide.

I looked back in your comments, doing a quick Ctrl-F for “palestin” to see what speaking up you were doing about the genocide.

Every one over the last month said something about “Biden,” “Harris,” or “both sides.” Every one. None of that has been relevant for three months now. After a month, I did find one that mentioned Palestine in some capacity that didn’t also reference Democratic politicians in reference to it. But the overwhelming majority was making a point about Democrats, who haven’t been in power for quite a while.

I think if you care this heart-rendingly much about the Palestinians, you should spend more time talking about something that might help them at this point. What that might be, I have no idea, since the big opportunity to do that was before the election, by (1) influencing Democrats to do something about it (2) making sure Trump doesn’t win and make everything 10 times worse with no openness whatsoever to changing his mind about it.

What? Yes I criticized democrats because they deserve it, find me saying something positive about Trump and JD or find me advocating not to vote for Harris.

Sorry if y’all can’t handle criticism about Biden directly facilitating genocide, just because Trump was always going to be worse for Palestinians does not absolve Biden for standing by uselessly and setting Trump up to make the genocide even worse.

Oh sure, you’re welcome to criticize the Democrats if you like, including for facilitating genocide. I’m just saying that it’s weird to keep doing it after the election while swearing that you speak on behalf of the Palestinians, and that’s why you care so much, when you’ve been totally silent about the Palestinians except insofar as they can be used to criticize Democrats. To me it sounds like your focus is Democrats.

I shit on Republicans literally all the time for their hatred, exclusionary and shockingly ignorant world views and complete deference to the rich.

Like do you want me to put it in my profile? I harbor no patience for dangerous rightwing bigots, Trump, JD or otherwise.

I said nothing about Republicans. I said you’ve been silent about Palestinians (except when they can be used to criticize Democrats). Nothing about Republicans.

My answer to this is something we can very much agree on, I am a USian and everything is rapidly falling apart here. The firehose of shit has turned up which isn’t a surprise to you or me…

I still very much care about the plight of the Palestinian people and my countries simultaneous direct complicity and utter denial of it having direct complicity (though arguably Trump is to stupid and bigoted to even bother to deny it).

I am not going anywhere, this isn’t some “fad”.

I came of age in terms of forming my politics during the Iraq War, I am still angry US war criminals from that era never received justice.

Believe me when I say people like me are not going to just drop this, ever, period.
