China is an entire economy built on intellectual property thievery and slave labor. The whole thing, that’s they’re advantage. Theft and slavery. The Chinese CCP can fuck off into the sun. *edit: this post and article is about the ccp censoring it’s human rights abuses, and all the downvotes confirm the ccp is here and active on the fediverse itself attempting to do the precise same thing. the irony shouldn’t be lost.

Not all who disagree with you are paid by a government. Sometimes people just think your take is bad.

Americans are falling behind in everything because they’re their own worst enemy.

They’ve become too corrupt, inefficient, and monopolistic.

Of course, reality’s hard to accept, just as it was for the British.

Perhaps. But what does any of that have to do with anything that they wrote?

Because USA did exactly the same in the past. Take all the designs and ideas from somewhere else to build themselves up, then get ahead and turn around and forbid everyone else to use their stuff.

China is now doing following that same plan. It wasn’t even hard. All they had to do was to say to give the designs and they’ll producer them cheaper. Now they’re the factory of the world. We knew this was going to happen but short term profit before long term consequences, right? A few tariffs aren’t going to stop this.

I personally think it’s good that the USA did it back then and I think it’s good that China does it now.

            Independence and wealth for all.

It’s not really good or bad, but the natural way of things. Nobody can stay top dog forever. Eventually greedy idiots come into power overplaying their hand, circumstances change, tech evolves and somebody else takes first place

Their comment didn’t defend anyone. Funny you act like it did.

The sins of the United States don’t justify others committing them.

China is as much on the rise as 1950s United States. And if you think it can be sustained unlike the US. You haven’t been paying attention.

That said, the people of both countries definitely have a lot in common. Sexism, bigotry and racism being some of those things. You are extremely sanitized interactions on red note are cute and quaint. But not truly representative . We also have a need to throw off our wealthy governing elite. Whether its trump and friends or the Xi pack in the forbidden city. The regular person will suffer as long as they stay in power.

This is sarcasm, right? Tell me it’s sarcasm. Mainland Chinese people are perhaps the least courteous people in the world.

I don’t know that I’d go that far. I’d think they’re not much different than people on average anywhere. I definitely think it’s cuckoo to claim that they are all so well educated and courteous compared to everyone else. That definitely reeks of lack of critical thinking and propaganda
