These hosts are absolutely awful. Every time he rambles and lies, they give Harris a new topic. Occasionally they ask a question and barely point out that he didn’t answer it.
The hosts need to hold him to a debate, not let him play it like a Trump rally.
Harris is doing fantastic.
Oh look, Harris wanted to respond out of turn one time and the hosts shut her down after letting Trump interrupt all night.
It really deems like he has been allowed to talk for twice the time as Harris. Anyone keeping track?
Wow, his 15% more time that he was able to get by interrupting and not shutting up when his time was up sure felt a lot longer than it was.
Everything he said is a lie. They would spend the whole debate rebutting him.
Nah, actually correct him and mute his mic and he would storm off the stage like a giant baby.
This is what should happen. Blatant lie means you lose time for corrections.
Dunno if anyone has brought this up but Trump basically never looked at Harris. Even had his face turned her direction and just looked at the moderators. The only time he looked at her was when he was forced to at the start where she went to shake his hand. Dude hates her so much.

I type ~90 wpm. That helps. But also I used to have to do this sort of quick text summarizing with what people say when I worked a survey job back in the 90s and I guess it never left me.

Jon Stewart’s video just dropped on YouTube for where it’s available geographically (where it’s not just use a downloader it totally works)
He had one or two good bits in there, but man…I haven’t watched him recently, and I think that he’s a lot weaker in 2024 than he was during his first time around.
Like, I remember him doing a beautiful video montage a few times that had people “debating” their past selves, where they made inconsistent statements. I feel like that really added to the discussion. He could make a point and do so humorously.
He got the accolades he did for improving the political discussion from just a comedy show.
But most of this was pretty meh, IMHO.
That being said, I don’t know who’s writing for him these days. And his team didn’t have a lot of lead time to cover the debate, so I can kind of understand there not being a lot of great material there. Maybe they’ll have more-meaty stuff on the debate in a day or so.
His jokes were amazing. The only difference is that he’s also started attacking Democrats since they’re basically 2000 Republicans as well.
It’s understandable that many Democrats don’t enjoy Stewart making fun of right-wingers anymore.
No. These particular bits just weren’t that funny.
The bit where he called Dick Cheney a war criminal and implied the Democrats should shun him if they had any standards was great.
“She wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.” Again, actual quote.
She’s a monster.

Trump on his healthcare plan: “Obamacare was lousy healthcare and always was and if we come up with something, and we are, we will replace it. I inherited Obamacare because Democrats wouldn’t vote to change it. If they did, we’d have a better plan than Obamacare. I had a choice as president whether or not to let it rot and I decided to tell my top people- I had very good people- some bad ones. They don’t get rid of their bad ones. I had a choice to make: do I save it and make it as good as it can be or let it rot? And I saved it and it was the right thing and it will never be great and it is too expensive. We are looking into other plans. If we can come up with a better plan, we would replace Obamacare.”
Moderator: “Do you have a plan?”
Trump: “I have concepts of a plan. I’m not president right now. If it’s cheaper, I’ll do it. We have options. You’ll be hearing about it soon.”
