Holy shit, that is a deep cut.

Fun fact, that line was apparently about a specific person, Mary Whitehouse. I don’t know what she did to piss off Pink Floyd but they were talking directly about her.

No no. She was a house-proud town mouse. The bus stop rat bag was someone else, I thought.

Pfft, I dunno now. Been listening to it for a long time. Kinda like when I thought The Wall was about the Berlin Wall. When I was young, I shone like the sun.

I just looked it up, it’s definitely three different pigs. The bus stop rat bag is one, and Whitehouse is a different one. She’s the only one that’s identified by name.

            Here’s the third:

If you want a song about the Berlin Wall, this one is pretty good. It’s kind of corny but it’s just the truth. John Kay snuck across the wall with his family when he was a little child, made it to America, and started a rock and roll band. This was his song about watching the wall come down on TV as an adult:

I had no idea about John Kay, the band was one of my faves, their 2 hits haha. I named my son Stephen, partly after the band and partly after the book Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse.

I read the Animals album wasn’t created as a concept album, it’s a bit disjointed in that way. Just a compilation of musical ideas put together over time, Waters arranged into a theme.
