  • Yeah coming to lemmy and finding out about the so called communist reminded me more of those in favor of the small ruling elite like the pigs from Animal Farm was surprising. Not realizing they are the ones being sent to the glue factory while the pigs lounge around enjoying the lavish life in this so called communist workers paradise.

Reminded me nothing of socialists or at least what I think of socialism with it reminding me of more the monarchy. They seem more like nationalists who coopted socialism/communism to white wash what they actually support and overlooking the elite ruling class that they are not a part of.

Much like the fascists in Western countries who deny they are fascists and are for democracy while supporting ideas of coups for life time dictators that hold their views. Very similar groups.

  • I think because when it comes to Instagram or Twitter type social media more people probably use it only to follow accounts and have no interest in being involved in it. So closer to treating it like a rss reader than something like lemmy or reddit. And conversation feed sucks in general.

I use squawker for Twitter. Can’t comment, like, sub, or whatever and account follows are just local feeds like Stealth for Reddit or NewPipe or Freetube. And that’s all I need from it.

    Aside from lemmy…

Twitter with Squabler which is nice not getting any ads and accounts I follow through the app shown in chronological order. No ads.

Reddit with Stealth which is another nice app not needing an account to subscribe to subreddits and save comments or posts. No ads.

YouTube with newpipe and freetube which is another nice app that let’s me subscribe, skip sponsors, no ads, and no need for an account.

  • Don’t really get the huge obsession and anger from lot of people. I watched the women’s breaking event wasn’t much impressed aside from the one competitor from China because she was doing power moves that I expected to see compared to few short power moves then feet shuffling most competitors did. Overall was kind of underwhelming to me including the finals just as someone who was really just wanting to see spinning gymnastics type stuff.

Didn’t think much of it and watched the men’s which was more in line of what I expected with much more spinning on heads, flips, and windmills. And was something I was much more impressed with and entertained by.

Then later after some memes focus around Raygun just kept growing and increasing more and more even with the Olympics done. How legitimately angry and out for blood some people are has been weird.

  • That’s with trusted parties where that type of collaboration is less likely to happen between parties that are hostile to each other. I would not expect blank country to trust any blank adversary countries software and instead be wary of their motives and back doors, and they would be smart not to with both sides seeking each other harm.

I don’t think you understand that I am viewing this from how sides that see each other as potential threats view and treat each other. Not talking about countries that are already collaborating as if they were allies.

In case you don’t understand. I am not claiming that countries do not spy on their own citizens and seek methods to spy even more on them. I’m talking about how countries can react to countries they label as adversaries.
