I see idiots saying they support trump because of his “policies”. I just can’t imagine being a woman, or having a sister, or a mom, or a female colleague, or a brain cell, and voting Republican. It makes no sense.
This is like saying 1,000 delusional people endorse Harris. I don’t think it’s the flex they think it is.
Can you imagine US schools doing this? I think most would be fine with hit, but there is a very vocal half of the country that doesn’t like objective facts nor critical thinking. Their parents would lose it when their kids came home asking questions. Probably be pulled into bible-based homeschooling or something.
If trump actually…shudder…wins, he could do as he’s said and bring down the fascist military hammer on any type of dissidents. These billionaire ghouls don’t care what happens to the country or world, they just care about their hoard.
I don’t care what their political views are, billionaires should not exist.
Linus either makes me think he’s a dick, or he makes me laugh. Sometimes both. I liked his response:
Greg Kroah-Hartman who authored the patch dropping the various maintainers has yet to comment on the mailing list thread, but a few minutes ago Linus Torvalds chimed in with his opinion. Linux creator Linus Torvalds wrote:
"Ok, lots of Russian trolls out and about.
It’s entirely clear why the change was done, it’s not getting reverted, and using multiple random anonymous accounts to try to “grass root” it by Russian troll factories isn’t going to change anything.
And FYI for the actual innocent bystanders who aren’t troll farm accounts - the “various compliance requirements” are not just a US thing.
If you haven’t heard of Russian sanctions yet, you should try to read the news some day. And by “news”, I don’t mean Russian state-sponsored spam.
As to sending me a revert patch - please use whatever mush you call brains. I’m Finnish. Did you think I’d be supporting Russian aggression? Apparently it’s not just lack of real news, it’s lack of history knowledge too."
I have a family member who just cancelled their subscription to the LA Times over this. After having been a subscriber for decades and continuing to be a subscriber to “maybe slow the decline of traditional journalism” for the past years since its quality has severely declined, they just said,“Well, that did it.”
The Supreme Court went out of their way to dodge the 14th Amendment question. Both during questioning and in their ruling.
In Future Shock

Alvin Toffler argued that society is undergoing an enormous structural change, a revolution from an industrial society to a “super-industrial society”. This change, he states, overwhelms people. He argues that the accelerated rate of technological and social change leaves people disconnected and suffering from “shattering stress and disorientation”—future shocked. -from WP

I still don’t get why trump hasn’t been disqualified under the 14th. Pretty fucking clear.
A question and an answer all in one. Rhetorical question?
Should work. Just try it out and see if you get what you want. I tried:
alias llaa='pwd && ll'
then ran llaa
and it did what I expected, current directory and the output of ls -al
which is aliased.
is unknown as CTE can only be definitively diagnosed after death.
So you didn’t look at the second link, the diagnosed after death part. Which was pretty definitive.
To be fair, I don’t care if grown men want to brain damage themselves. I enjoy watching both boxing and MMA. I don’t think it’s something younger people should be doing though, the head striking at least. At the same time, I’m not going to fool myself that these people I’m watching aren’t damaging their brains.
Hell, I’ve had trouble believing it while living through it.
Last time it was this bad, the 17th Amendment was added. Sure would be nice if they could think of a new amendment to address the modern take on the problem. It’s hard enough for the idiots in congress to pass basic money bills, so I don’t really expect anything to happen. I hope I’m surprised.
I guess if you don’t like facts, what you said could be true.
You aren’t practically guaranteed to have life changing injury from skydiving, drinking, or eating. Several studies have shown that over 90% of football players have CTE. It’s not the same, and not a question of moderation.
Republicans hate the Constitution because they hate democracy. So much of their efforts are thrown at suppressing voting.
For me that is much more than a pet peeve.
