It’s for Lemmy rather than Mastodon, but that is basically why I put together Tesseract. It supports a lot of the “big” sources: Youtube (and both Piped and Invidious), Soundcloud, Bandcap, Spotify, Vimeo as well as Odysee, Peertube, and Songlink.

I think it’s very important for fediverse mobile apps to support audio and video streaming to integrate with platforms like Peertube, Castopod, Bandwagon (once that gets going), etc.

I’ve already got Peertube supprt, but I’ll definitely look into Castopod to see what, if any, embed API it supports and try to add that in. Same for Bandwagon, like you said, when it gets going. Thanks for that list.

We have a system of checks and balances that can be used, assuming we elect people who aren’t part of the problem.

People need to get the fuck out and vote. Every election, every office, school board seat, dogcatcher, etc. Got friends who don’t vote? Try to get at least one of them to. Yeah, gerrymandering exists but it doesn’t hold a candle to voter apathy when it comes to damage done.

I forget the details in Cruz’s case (maybe the person who commented will fill in those), but it’s not anything like you’re thinking. “Gender affirming care” can mean any kind of medical treatment/care that is for the purpose of making you feel more like your gender identity. e.g. a man getting hair plugs to look more manly or taking hormone supplements to grow out his beard, etc.

Again, I forget what the case is for Cruz, but it was something routine that technically falls under “gender affirming care” that he and his ilk are constantly demonizing. Just a fun little way to call him a hypocrite.

Fireworks used to be heavily regulated in my area, but in recent years, you can basically get anything short of a stick of dynamite from any of the hundreds of pop-up tents that set up in shopping plaza parking lots every June 1.

I don’t get a good night’s sleep from mid-June through September because of neighborhood kids setting the damn things off every night until 2 - 2:30 AM.
