Yep. Just getting ready to replace the color laser printer I bought almost 10 years ago. I had been considering a new Brother before this but looks like I’m going the 2nd hand route again (last one was an open box HP from microcenter for $200 lol)

Yes, so nice proportion of smart people. I was whining to my wife the other day how I miss the internet of the 90s when that was more the case.
That’s what they say. And, I’ve spent a lot of time in countries that have them. But, i have still chickened out each time lol. But, I do plan to get an add-on kind one of these days to give it a try. Thanks for the reminder
I think once the singularity is reached with AI, it will quickly be able to take over all systems (including banking). I believe that it will be benevolent and will help humanity reach enlightenment. Most people will get an early retirement. But, some people such as Musk, Zuck, Bezos, will be considered essential and will be required to assist the AI and their robot armies in the fields, restaurants, factories, etc. I’m thinking we would only need about 1% of the population to work at that time, the top 1% are the best candidates.
We use a combination of microfiber towels and swedish dishcloths to replace paper towels and we use cloth napkins to replace paper napkins (and sometimes kleenex lol). Haven’t had the desire yet to give up soft toilet paper…
Yes, text book case of how transparent projection is to us when we do it.
Or, we as humans can collectively decide on a new inverse value to money in which the richest today become the poorest 1% and most everyone else will be much better off than they are today!
Fuck yeah. Thanks for having our backs!
For sure! Actually, i’ve been spending more and more time just watching old videos at archive.org. Old government videos, old reel to reel educational films, and on and on…
I ran into a problem when they stopped recommending videos if you don’t allow them to save your search/viewing history. When I realized the extreme amount of data that this provides them, to the extent that their algorithms can likely identify what mental health issues people have that they may not even be aware of themselves, I tried to give them as little detail as I could.
Exactly! This book from an ad exec in the 70s opened my eyes to all of this in the early 90s when I first came across it in my late teens: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Arguments_for_the_Elimination_of_Television
I think that has been the case for a longer time than we realize. These are the same people that sat around watching all the same garbage TV shows for decades, the same vanilla movies, and ate at the same chain restaurants. Those of us that have always looked for our own music, our own shows, our own movies, tend to continue to curate our own experiences on the internet rather than accept society’s spoon fed nonsense.
Yes, and realizing what a large percentage of such people I grew up with in the tail end of gen-X, I shouldn’t have been surprised by the outcome of the election.
Echo chambers are not bad when the echo is due to the majority opinions being in favor of basic human rights and equality. Giving voice to those that spew hate is not conducive to going anywhere except a circle.
