Maybe make it possible for a server to only share aggregate votes on a given post?
Like a proxy vote, where only the server knows who it belonged too.
Right. We are IDEALLY only identifiable by our content and where to reach us at for a given persona online.
A contrary ideal for where votes are supposed to represent an actual plurality of stake holders in the social contract.
Oh I forgot to mention pedals AI for distributed AI inference so its possible for smaller systems to contribute and use a larger model then they could theoretically do alone.
Have you check out the stable diffusion plugin for Krita? The in painting technique seemed very cool watching someone work with it.
Distributed computing. Its amazing to see things go from isolated PC to things like p2p torrenting and BIONIC to block chain and IPFS to kubernetes to the fediverse and Matrix and Tor.
All filling wildly different niches of trust and capability.
Want to run a secure shared virtual reality space in p2p way? Check out 3rd space built on the matrix protocol.
Want to build a highly secure computer system spanning regions and dataceneters? Check RKE2!
What about just a secure little thing in your house or across friends and family houses? Not gonna believe it but rke2 or its simply brother k3s.
Just need to store public data? Chuck into IPFS and share it in a highly cooperative way.
Want to push it out in a pub/sub fashion or sub to others info? Check out ActivityPub. Great for medium trust networks since you can choose who you publish too or subscribe from.
Maybe you want to share just metadata between private servers but real time data between users, check out matrix.
Maybe you want to share data publically but what hard incentives to keep the compute and control of that distributed. Check out block chains and pick your poison of incentive models (e.g. pow or pos or maybe look at the wierder ones). With current pick of creating a limited supply digital asset to act like currencies do.
Maybe you just need a VPN you can trust, maybe try a distributed network of volunteers using layers of obfuscation to minize info leaked about your network.
Plenty of human problems around all of these but still super cool how far we’ve come.
Can’t wait to see more jobs become tip based /s Nurses based on tips, doctors, ems, firefighters? Why not?
Its the most economical decision for them on their taxes…

The wierdest one I made for ttrpg was a nation built by orphans in an extrwmly poverty striken nation. Life is short and fast, you do what you can to help each other out and when someone dies they get they’re name, date, and one sentence voted on by people that knew written in the book.
Their is no ownership, but if you take something you better have good reason or people won’t help you out. If you want something done, do it or covince the people that can to do it.
You’re expected to use contraceptives unless you know the orphanage can handle more kids. If you want to do something good with what little you’ve got helping to take care of poor kids like yourself at the orphanage is one most sure fire ways to do that. Holden up to raise just a kid or two out by yourself is no way to make a mark and who’s gonna write your sentence some snot nosed kid isolated from the rest of the world by you? Why?
The moment that defined them as nation instead of just a community was when a nearby kingdom was preparing for a war path. They set out to create the equivalent of nuclear bomb, with many lives being lost trying to save themselves and each other. They finally made it, with many sentences being written of the kids that built a sun, and founded a nation. Their neighbors gave them a different sentence, because when they demonstrated it others had to turn they’re heads from the blindly blaze, but the kids “did not look away” instead smoke glasses adored admired what their felllow orphans did with them.
Basically an anarchist society built on communal child rearing, and shared mythology of legacy of brief meaningful lives.
I’m super excited to see machine vision for inventory management personally. A tons of trades is just finding the right connectors, plates, wire for a job.
Honestly that seems like a huge factor to me. The more car dependent places I’ve lived the less delivery was a thing.
Cloud native desktop Or Cluster desktop computing
I want to get the Linux desktop experience but capable as highly available set of services and jobs that can run on the machines around my house.
Sex. I love it as a topic. I miss being a weird young adult that could just talk about it with strangers.
The “gspot” is a slightly rough (rough for a vaginal wall!) spot found in the vagina (towards the pubic area). Its actually a part of a large collection of sensitive nerves that the clit is connected to as well.
That said an even more important piece of information? Everybody is a little different! Ilicitating arousul can be very different for different people and can lead to different climaxes (and not everyone likes to climax the same!). So the best bet is asking, talking, and LISTENING to your partner(s) about what they do and don’t like. You can use vibrators, electrodes, tounges, lips, or even just sweet words, but what matters is what you and your partner’s preferences and boundairies. There are also all different kinds of sex, kind of the same way you have different kinds of loves. It can a connecting experience, a game, exercise, funny, but it should always have a level of shared trust because its also a vulnerable experience. Porn for example tends to be very performative, because its not about the actors per say its about you and your surrogate the camera. So while there is a lot to learn and study in that art its not generally good place to learn how to bond with a partner or experience tantric climaxes.
CTOs that outsourced to a software they couldn’t and didn’t auidit are to blame first. Not having a testing pipeline for updates is to blame. Windows having a verification system loophole is too blame. Crowd strike not testing this patch are too blame. Them building a system to circumvent inspect by MS is their fault.
Now with each org there is probably some distribution of blame too, but the execs in charge are first and for most in charge…
Honestly this is probably enough serious damages in some cases that I suspect ever org to have pay some liability for the harms their negligence caused. If our system is just that is, and if it is not than we have a duty to correct that as well
A couple planets! /s
I would be willing to never have one in my life time just to see climate change slowed to a rate nature can naturally adapt and people can afford to adjust to honestly.
I dont forsee it being any worse then food waste and wasted grocery trips are for me.
Computer vision, a couple services, a db, and network access can be pretty light weight. Any extra voice, natural language interface, etc is probably overkill and without special hardware (and the ecogical cost of that) not worth it on an energy use stand point.
All speculation of course
Automatic spending definitely takes next level of trust for sure!
For sure playing ads on my fridge or just spying on me aren’t “smart” at all to me.
I think South Parks vision is still the worst. AI so human you can fall in love with but it still tries to manipulate you to sell you things.
I use a llm fine tuned on medical stuff for minor medical questions or to prep for medical appointments (getting on the same page as the doc can save some serious time, say the wrong thing and they’ll get hung up on it for a year lol).
I really want to combine it something like fasten health so I can go over my medical data on my own machines faster. Pipe dream rn because getting that data from the docs is a pain in the dick, but still would be cool to me.
I want AI in my fridge for sure. Grocery shopping sucks. Forgetting how old something was sucks. Letting all the cool out to crawl around to see what I have sucks.
I want my fridge to be like the Sims, just get deliveries or pickup the order. Fill it out and get told what ingredients I have. Bonus points if you can just tell me what recipes I can cook right now, even better if I can ask for time frame.
That would be sick!
Still not going to give ecorp all of my data or put some half back internet of stings device on my WiFi for it. But it would be cool.
I mean you can look at Russia as an example for how much of the economy was hurt by forcing people out of normal occupation and into service. You also have too look at their abysmal attrition rate to see its unsubstainable and if used primarily leads to worse and worse outcomes on the battle field as they less and less qualified personnel.
Appealing to morality is probably a lost cause for someone supporting a draft, they have already bought into war as a solution. Like moral arguments that Russia is choosing to sacrifice millions and set back their region is something they are already choosing to ignore, forcing people to do it minor in comparison.
