46·9 hours agoThe exact same excuse used by every single Nazi who got caught. But you don’t have to be a monster to do evil - that’s a myth created by people who don’t want to imagine they could ever do evil things. To do evil you just have to go with the flow and not do anything to resist.
The Trump library will be a shelf with one slightly sticky book of Hitler’s speeches and a 747 parked out back.

15·2 days agoThat’s not true. These imprisonments have been contested in court and people have been released as a consequence. There have been at least two high-profile examples of this for protestors against Israel’s genocide in the past couple of days.
If they suspend habeas corpus, that’s it. The government can imprison you on a whim, for life, and you’ll have no right or opportunity to challenge it in court.
It’s also reported that Trump’s people are working on suspending habeas corpus. This would remove your right to challenge your arbitrary imprisonment in court. So they will be able to disappear anyone, forever, with no reason and no legal recourse. Effectively Trump will then be an absolute dictator.

Henrik Landerholm announced his resignation in January as police opened an investigation after he allegedly left classified documents in an unlocked safe at a hotel during a conference.
These are not the same person. Thyberg resigned over Grindr photos, while Landerholm left classified documents unguarded.
