The DNC is bought and paid for by oligarchs. Almost all of the richest US billionaires lean Democrat. Musk is an anomaly, and look how he’s been targeted. I’m not saying it’s entirely unmerited.
So of course the oligarchs want the working class disarmed. And they don’t want populist candidates who want to improve people’s lives and cut into profits which is why the Democrats haven’t had a real primary in awhile.
The oligarchs also fund republicans hoping to control them the same way, but Trump got elected anyway. You might actually hate him 20% less if the bought corporate media hadn’t been weaponized against him. A lot of his positions were Democrat positions twenty years ago. Hillary had some crazy “deport the illegals” quotes back in the day.
Oh you’re attributing things to my comment I didn’t mean. The US government is out of control. Yes we give massive dollars all around, and the government expects quid pro quo. None of it is what the people want, it’s what the government does. It’s all corrupt. But so was Hillary.
$400 million is such a drop in what we have given to other countries. She’s not wrong, but she’s not right.
Okay. How close are we to that? How about giving a huge bump to minimum wage and tying increases to inflation, now? Even the Dems aren’t running on this.
They’ve consulted and received no real help. I don’t live near a border, so the best help you get from a professional is a short online chat or a phone call. People who have been through it are generally more helpful.
There may be a way forward, but it is unreasonable. Which is half the reason most legal immigrants are opposed to giving a pass to people who try to cut the line.
Ah, so they’re going to go with the ol’ “At least we’re not Republicans” strategy. How about better wages? Medicare for all? Fucking stand for something, anything! I guess they do though: continued wars, wall street and neoliberalism.
It’s already been built wrong, and redoing those places will take decades and will cost trillions. They have been adding little token projects here or there, but our zoning still doesn’t even require sidewalks or bike lanes for new construction. So honestly we’re generations from it at the pace we’re moving. We could pay living wages now though.
I know a lot of people around here aren’t a fan of cars, but minimum wage workers need to be able to afford one. And even used cars have gotten crazy expensive. Even if you can find a cheap used shit box it’ll need expensive repairs quickly.
I know there are places where this isn’t true, but where I live, if you don’t have a car, you can’t get to work, the grocery store, or anywhere really. If you try to ride a bike, you will die. If you try to ride an escooter you’ll get ticketed for riding it in the driving lane, and even if it were legal it wouldn’t be an option in the winter when they don’t even clear the whole road of snow and ice. People go homeless before they give up having a car.
I live in a pretty conservative area. I might pay $15k for a brand new one.
Yeah my daughter and her boyfriend want to get married but there’s really not a path for them to be able to live together. She can’t work there, he can’t work here. Any advice?
To some extent the same is true of much of Europe. Most places are happy to let rich foreigners buy homes, and they’ll accept high end professionals to come and work. But poor Europeans aren’t welcome in the US, and poor Americans aren’t welcome in Europe.
I’m in the US and my daughter’s boyfriend is in London. He has visited a few times and they grill him for awhile, but they let him in. They have done this in the past though too. Sme friends and I were searched and questioned for several hours just coming back from Canada one time, and we were all citizens. That was in the '90s.
My daughter’s very white boyfriend who is from London has visited twice since Trump took office. Both times he was grilled about his plans, even to details of how many of each clothing item type he had packed. They made it very clear he had better not extend his stay, because they are deporting illegals.
I have an Aldi but my wife and I have five jobs between us, a 20 year old still living at home and two teenagers who aren’t driving yet. Sometimes we don’t have time to cook. I still shop at Aldi tho!
Point taken! I was just trying to not completely disagree to be nice. I guess I didn’t think it through. The US government is a beast that has tried to hide itself from the people with lies and propaganda for a long time. The info that came out about JFK’s assassination recently gives a glimpse that it’s been going on for a long time.
I’m not a fan of Trump, but neither is the deep state war & money machine. They’re trying to stir up violence from the left to goad Trump into further eroding our right to protest and other rights. It’s why they fund both parties and widen political rifts. They win no matter who wins any given election.
I guess if you’re playing in a completely dark room, sometimes it’s nice to be able to see the keys by being backlit. I can type the alphabet stuff without looking easily, and most game control keys, but sometimes there are keys you don’t use very often where you kind of want to look to see if you’re hitting the right key. Having a pure white backlight isn’t always great in the dark, and having a bright rainbow isn’t always great either. Having the colors match the color scheme of what’s on your screen, again, completely unnecessary, but I can still see my keys and it matches the vibe. I’ve also only used it a handful of times.
Andy Beshear is pretty centrist which is why he can get elected in Kentucky. And I know the opinion of centrists around here, they’re conservatives. He might be able to win a general election, but can he win a Democratic primary? Well if he’s the Golden boy, the party will shoo him in just like they did Hillary, even if there are other candidates that maybe could be more popular. Nothing like democracy in action in the Democratic party!
The US has shit for manufacturing. There are so many deserted towns because it all moved to China and Mexico, Bangladesh or wherever because companies said line must keep going up.
Weekly meal prep. Yeah it means repeated meals, but you can switch it up every week. It’s the only way I get by. Plus I feed 5-6 people. So I’m not making one meal at a time, I’m making twenty or thirty.
