Wales: clears throat
The first thing is that they buy a lot of caterpillar cakes, especially around Christmas time.
First I’ve heard of this, but it wouldn’t surprise me
The second thing is that they eat some of the most creative sandwiches, such as chip butties and pot noodle sandwiches.
Chip butties are amazing. Some pubs back in the day used to serve chip barms for free.
The third thing is that they call strangers pet names, such as love and sweetheart.
Regional, but I think it’s dying off as some people take offence at it.
The fourth thing is that they do Morris dancing.
Only every other Sunday
The fifth thing is that they take their shirts off as soon as the sun comes out.
INNNNGGERRRRLLAAAAAANNNNDDDD
The sixth thing is that they slap their knees when they are ready to leave.
slaps knees RIGHT!
I think I’ve heard this is a German thing too?
The seventh thing is that they can be very polite to people they hate and very rude to people they love.
This is so true! Thanks so much by the way for sharing this list, much appreciated.
The eighth thing is that they bring in treats to work on their birthday.
Yes. At first I thought it was bonkers because normally you receive gifts on your birthday, not give them out for everyone else! But it would get costly and fatty if everyone brought cakes in for one persons birthday.
The ninth thing is that they say goodbye a lot of times.
“Alright mate, cheers, yep… cheers mate, see ya, yeah have a good day now, cheers mate, bye, bye”
This shouldn’t really be surprising, I’d think most people’s internet usage is probably on their phone, and has been for some time.
People don’t want to sit at a desk or whatever and browse or do their socials stuff, they want to do it sat on the sofa while the TV is on or in between chores in the house.
I think the last two companies I’ve worked for, both B2C have had mobile web and app usage way higher than desktop web.
Is this another one of those things that’s common knowledge and I didn’t know about it?
Yeah, but do they check the vehicles too or just the occupants and what’s in the vehicle? I’ve never actually used either so not sure how it works.
My guess they came via a ferry or the channel tunnel.
Not sure a Renault (now Alpine) is a good example of fastest 🤣
I really miss that livery though.
Aye of course, just poking fun that it’s not always free from the same bullshit here too!

What if Tupac had a huge unpaid tax bill, killed Robbie and has been wearing his skin ever since?
Robbie Williams is famous in the UK, ever since the mid-90’s. He was a member of a very popular boy band called Take That and has produced several smash hit songs like Angels and Rock DJ amongst others.
So it’s pretty funny to identify him by some film when he’s known for things that are way more known.
Possibly, not sure how it works if they’re a visitor from mainland Europe (the reg plate doesn’t look to be a UK one) - if their vehicle isn’t road legal in the UK, does that invalidate their insurance where they’re from?
It’s not even a $5 one-off fee, it’s a $5/month subscription!
You can always choose an instance that does, or block the instance in your settings.
That’s weird, why would you want to see other fediverse content in Pixelfed? Surely it should be all Pixelfed content like op expects.
What does federation mean to a service like Pixelfed? With Lemmy each instance has their own communities but I’m guessing Pixelfed is just where you upload photos to your own profile and you can follow people you like, I’m assuming across the entire Pixelfediverse?
Jesus fucking christ…
