Cake day: June 28th, 2024

  • I know it’s hard to imagine but there are people further to the left of rich corporate Democrat libs. They fucked up and they need to learn from their mistakes and finally put economically left Democrats like Bernie Sanders and AOC into power just like many have been yelling and screaming at them to do for years if they want any chance if that’s even possible at this point.

They can’t just follow Republicans further to the right, doing nothing for working people, following Trump on border policies, policing policies, giving money to their rich friends, do a genocide, then sprinkle on some vague culture war bullshit then call it a day and expect to win.

Or you can just call anyone who calls you out a Trumpist, change nothing, and keep losing.

  • What do you mean “their preferred candidate”. Is everyone opposed to genocide a Trump supporter now? You’ve completely lost the plot.

In every analysis Harris’s loss was due to being an out of touch corporate Democrat and not appealing to the working class.

Also Rashida Tlaib was opposed to the genocide and won seats. If you had pushed Harris to break from Biden and oppose the genocide in any way shape or form she would have only gained voters. Morality aside that was a bad strategy.

Regardless, Palestine was not the deciding factor in the Libs getting demolished, it was their own hubris and inability to take a Sander’s style hard swing to the left and fight for working people.

  • I think you’re right. Everyone is bowing down and kissing the ring.

If Democrats want any respect they need to act bravely in unison now and erect every possible barrier possible.

One of the problem with liberals is they believe we live in a somewhat fair and just world where laws work, justice takes time, and if you play by the rules everything will work out fine.

Fascists will nod along with liberals while thinking they’re a bunch of idiots and will use their naivety against them until they gain power, then turn to violence.

Trump has a lot of plans to put into place effect so there will be a lot of balls in the air and actors on the field.

Everyone needs to block them, disrupt them, distract them in any way possible.

  • I think it was still the right move for Biden to drop out. His brain was clearly done. Trump looked like a sure win after the ear incident, and Trump got rattled with someone younger stepping in.

But it never mattered what Trump said, Republicans were always going to vote for him.

It would have been better if Biden dropped out sooner, if they let Bernie run, if Kamala didn’t fruitlessly try to win Republican votes by moving further right.

She could have done anything even slightly for the working class, stand up to Israel in a meaningful way.

Instead we got “I’m speaking”, “most lethal army”, “I will have a Republican in my cabinet”, “Israel must expand its borders” from Walz.

She should have moved to the left and differentiated herself, get people excited and motivated for some actual change. All we got was “maybe I won’t be quite as bad as Trump”.

You can chastise people for staying home all day, but that’s never going to actually get people to put their energy and effort into supporting you and move millions of people needed to get to the ballot box.

Also need to consider all the forces of Israel, Russia, the “alt-right”, Elon Musk were in full play to disenfranchise voters and who knows what other kinds of trickery behind the scenes. They needed an absolute surge to overcome all that, not some weak sauce Trump-lite bullshit.
