Edit: this is from the perspective of a technical interviewer.
I’ve done around 200 or so technical interviews for mostly senior data engineering roles. I’ve seen every version of made up code, terrible implementation suggestion and dozens of folks with 5+ years of experience and couldn’t wrote a JOIN to save their lives.
The there were a couple where the resume was obviously made up because they couldn’t back up a single point and they just did not know a thing about data. They would usually talk in circles about buzzwords and Excel jaron. “They big data’d the data lake warehouse pivot hadoop in Azure Redshift.” Sure, ya did, buddy.
Yes, they were “pre-screened”. This was one of the BIG tech companies.
I really enjoyed Mindustry, even though I’ve never tried another factory-type game. The polish and depth was 100% there although I got lost at one point and didn’t know how to progress. That game really changed my perspective on what is possible for FOSS. Godspeed, devs
Cool! I’ve seen good things about that lens. Awesome to hear you shoot on cloudy days. Gives me a reason to take the camera out on more often
Just saw all of your plant\flower shots and they’re all phenomenal. I love that you keep\make them dark so it’s like the subject melts into a dark void. You’ve got an awesome style.
Are you shooting with a 105mm prime? Is it a dedicated macro lens? What kind of lighting do you look for when you shoot?
When I worked in an office, most of my team was in other offices across the world. But we had to be in the office for that TEAM BUILDING
That’s such a good idea. My camera has to pair with my phone to get GPS readout and it’s a nightmare app. Going to look into this
This solved a 20-year mistery for me. If you listen to Pink Floyd - Nobody Home, I think this plays at 3:00
Hey. What is this from?
Two stones with one bird
Nooo. RFK is an anti-establishment old hat little “d” Democrat like JFK!!! He’s a Kennedy! Don’t look at the .ml in my username instance! \s
It’s a bit involved to host the server but easier than most self-hosting services, in my opinion. Then there’s the audio setup which I think is super easy for digital audio folk but may be a challenge for folks who haven’t had to mess with digital audio much. The biggest thing people had problems with was turning off wifi and connecting via network cable. Reduced latency by leaps and bounds
Like I said, video was a separate device for my playing so it was kind of a non-issue. Mixing and production in OBS is way over my head.
I’m not sure if this solves your problem, but it’s an opportunity to plug Jamulus . It’s FOSS, and one of the best solutions if your target is uncompromising sound quality/latency. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do video. I’ve jammed with a band on it and was very successful. Vide was on a phone or separate machine. When we performed, video was mixed by another user using OBS, and streamed on Zoom
Of course. But that’s not uniquely Romanian or some rememenace of the communist times. That’s capitalism. Look at the US and England. They have the same problems.
A little over a decade of economic stagnation, a massive flow of money and power from “the state” (the oligarchs) to private citizens (oligarchs, sometimes new ones), and years of privatization, austerity, and general kleptocracy against public goods…
Then one of the fastest growing economies in Europe, with a good standard of living, and insane rates of home ownership and some of the best and cheapest Internet in the world.
The dictatorship was overwhelmingly bad though it had some positive, socialist traits. What Romania is today is much better with some bad capitalist traits. People in the country sometimes look back to the communist days with nostalgia. Others got stuck in the post-communist bleakness and never saw that their country moved forward past them.
…Ennis, a Trump administration appointee who took office in January 2019…
BS. This is exactly what Rump world wants. They love consolidation of power, Christian nationalism, and taking power away from non-white men. They are worried that centrist and moderate red voters will hear about it.
It’s worse than you thought. They’re the same company.
