  • Did that happen here, or are you projecting that onto others?

If by “here”, u mean lemmy, then yes. They were hexbear ppl.

As for supporting cooperatives, you’d be a Market Socialist, so not a Communist, but not really liberal either.

Socialism is the transitory state to communism. I believe in the communist utopia and I believe that this cooperative kind of market socialism will lead us there.

As for the question of Reform or Revolution, it’s pretty clear by this point that Reform might as well be impossible.

I would disagree there. I would love to explain why, but I’m really tired right now to type much stuff out. Ik it’s a cop out. I’m sorry.

As such, the majority of Socialists are Revolutionary, so you have more fringe views.

Eh… Most socialists where I’m from have such views. MLs are in fact the rarity in my experience offline.

Choosing to wear my favourite color to school isn’t “brand indoctrination”. It is called being a free individual. If parents can refuse to buy their kids non essential, unaffordable electronics they can refuse to buy them fast fashion branded clothing. The solution to capitalism being shit isn’t simply eliminating choice.

  • TLDR: Let’s say you want to teach an LLM a new skill. You give them training data pertaining to that skill. Currently, researchers believe that this skill development shows up suddenly in a breakthrough fashion. They think so because they measure this skill using some methods. The skill levels remain very low until they unpredictably jump up like crazy. This is the “breakthrough”.

BUT, the paper that this article references points at flaws in the methods of measuring skills. This paper suggests that breakthrough behavior doesn’t really exist and skill development is actually quite predictable.

Also, uhhh I’m not AI (I see that TLDR bot lurking everywhere, which is what made me specify this).
