  • In my experience it typically is unsolicited advice. Like, you’re explaining why you’re having a tough time, and then they try to offer solutions, when you just wanted to explain why you’re having a tough time without requesting them to help you with it, directly

Though of course, it depends on the context yeah. In one form of the situation you’re right

  • SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zonetoMental Health@lemmy.worldAh pointless advice...

Because it’s regarding common “mainstream” solutions such as, for example, “have you tried exercising?”, “have you tried going outside?”, “have you tried keeping a todo-list?”, etc. And not like, “have you tried this therapy session that I’m offering you for free?”, or “have you tried this medication which I’m giving you access to yet?”

Because chances are, there are things that are yet to be done, but those are not things that the average person who is about to suggest something might be able to do

  • Well, the thing is, death and destruction isn’t more profitable. But that’s not the point. The point is to keep global hegemony by keeping the military-industrial-complex rich as fuck while at the same time getting bribes as “incentive”

For humanity as a whole, it’s all a net loss. Not only does the rocket cost resources, but so does the building that it blows up

  • “if the US falls, you will be next”

Yeah, and that’s effectively you (as a group) threatening me, isn’t it? For stuff that’s going on in your country? That I had no influence on? Why do you expect me to do anything but prepare to defend myself?

I won’t be saving your country from your own mess, no. And as a non-local I would be less than useless even if I did cross the border. What I will be doing, however, is preparing to the best of my ability myself and my home community against a fascist US.

Besides, that wasn’t the point of my comment. The point of my comment is that the fascists in charge won’t hesitate to use violence against you. If you choose to not defend yourself from it, then you’re sitting ducks, and they get free reign. It has nothing to do with “bloodlust”. It’s about defending yourself from an abuser. Why did you assume I tried to shame you? I’m not the original commenter.
