Not defending Mike Johnson here, but there’s supposed to be more to it than just the days in session. About 140 in session days, which allows other days to read and research what you’re legislating on. And then the lengthy recesses are so congressmen can be home to work with and listen to their constituents.

Whether or not it happens like that is a mystery, I guess.

Unfortunately, not every politically inspired copycat is, you know, not crazy.

A crowd here and there of 35,000 isn’t nearly enough. It needs to be crowds of hundreds of thousands in hundreds of places at once. And the only way you get there is a massive increase in faith that the elected Democrats will actually do something. This performance (because I will concede that it’s just a performance) is exactly the kind of act that increases that faith.

He’s doing this for the exact same reason Bernie and AOC are - to generate headlines and display that people by and large are not okay with what the Trump administration is doing. There is nothing actually actionable from the rallies (or very, very little). And sadly at the moment there’s very little that can be done to actually stop Trump’s plans. It’s important therefore that Democrats continue to passionately, loyalty, and most importantly eye-catchingly continue to protest however they can.

I’ve heard a story (so like 4th hand at this point) where an astrophysicist was talking about galaxy rotations or something. “And for this model, we can simplify pi to 10.”

I use a Roku and the Roku remote instead of the TV one. The Roku remote has power, volume, and mute buttons that control the TV. And that’s really all you need. Is there a similar remote for Fire Stick?

The problem is that word “elected.” It doesn’t specifically exclude someone assuming the role of president through the line of succession.

My family is comfortable, in a house with a mortgage and cars that run and a bit in the bank. We are not “paycheck to paycheck” in that a missed check will doom us. But loss of income for any longer than a month or two would be disaster. I think that’s what this statistic also includes.

RE: Lego Masters - It’s the writing. Will Arnett is an incredibly funny comedian with decades of success under his belt. But the writing for him on LM is too stiff and not funny. In some of the one on one interactions though you can tell when he’s going off script and suddenly things are more natural feeling and so much funnier!

I think I’m gonna shoot for the R2S, or go for the Hyundai/Kia. The R3X is too small, and I’ve never owned anything larger than a midsize sedan.
