  • I just finished the not special edition of new hope and Andor and that movie are almost their own thing. The first star wars feels fully in place with andor in a way even empire feels less aligned with andor and it goes further from their.

I had early childhood memories of my first time watching star wars. I was 4, it was at the apartment of my parents pals, I was there so the four of them could hang out and drink, which wasn’t any real thing, parents should get to party from time to time and mine did well, we were walking distance from home, they rocked out in the kitchen and they set me up a giant vhs collection and popped on star wars for the first hang and the rest of.the trilogy after. They were my first not aimed at little kids movies and I viewed them while my folks were having party times in the next room and I kinda assumed they were more serious than they were until is as phantom menace

Edit: attack of the clones, I was still kinda young for phantom menace and assumed a lot went over my head

  • Watching the first star wars movie. I think why I still really love it is how easy it is to picture yourself as the original 1977 theater audience seeing it for the first time and thinking about just how fucking weird it is. It’s still operating in that 70s movie style most of the time. It just has this vibe that feels a lot slower and more methodical and just really really different from the rest of star wars to the point I can forget that there is any other movie in the franchise cause when it was made there was no franchise. Compared to the rest it’s a very cute film. Just really earnest and silly and loveable. It’s got a vive.

  • You live on Earth and they live on planet Make Believe. Not being American has made it a lot easier, no one I know personally has these brainworms too strongly. My lib parents totally agree that you morally can’t vote for someone funding a genocide and it’s that simple. I’m just getting it online, if you want to engage you can make a game of seeing what they’ll excuse and how. Talk about how Walz handled the 2020 George Floyd protests as governor. Right now is a great time to see who can be trusted and who can’t. Turns out basically no one can be trusted, but thst confirmation is very valuable. We now know we’re up against people who will support a genocide actively. It’s good to know just how hostile your opponents are, and we’ve gotten a really solid idea of where libs will fall now. Hopefully into a pit followed by a grenade and dirt along with anyone else who collaborates in mass atrocity.

  • Listen to my best pal’s weird noise music! It’s genuinely catchy despite being noise and I really can’t say enough good about it. It’s weird shit but I thinknits not a bad first shit experience

I’m hyped as hell on it, we’re good buds and former roommates and now I’m behind in cool noise project by a mile, I’ve gotta record. Also he’s shown me if I’m at home I should just use what I have and record off phone if need be and forget being Depeche mode. I wanna do some dark nosiey stuff bit really my goal is go combine noise music and Italian disco, I’m going for dance music a bit and the other extreme is making noisegrind using found sound collages, motorcycles driving by instead of blsstbeats. He just kinda vibed put and made masterpieces and I should stop thinking and make as well. This shit slaps so hard and I guarantee you’ve never heard anything like it.

  • Maybe if it was the right time, he was bragging about how smart he was to his friends and I was on a smoke break at work across the street. I’m not great with a 101 crowd cause I don’t suffer foolishness easily, in text I can go item by item in response and demand specific clarification on smaller bits, verbally it’s keeping track of someone’s improvised thoughts and I often run into needing to put a pin in so much at once that it’s hard to draw anything useful as a response. Kids these days may also suck cause my experience has made me feel like a guest on Joe Rogan and just being aggressively agreed with while clearly nothing is being absorb and when trying to get a point of view there isn’t really anything there but late boomer tech psychedelia and liberalism. I’m best off with people that either know what they’re talking about or can admit they don’t. People that barely know something are the hardest, I just feel constantly forced into having the wrong conversation because they know enough to talk a bit about whatever excuse for a framework they have but become crude post structuralists all of a sudden when you try to define it.
