For some reason my mind created the inverse title “US loudly preparing to NOT build giant telescope”, but that’s pretty bang on for the state of the two countries lol.

Different state and a different time - but I wanted to share the success of the Sokaogon Ojibwe community in defeating a similar plan. Together we’ll overcome this

In your defense- the second one got a chuckle from me
Lmao no idea this would rustle people.
Came here to make a joke about this “explaining why I’ve always been ‘baroque’” - but after reading it my new takeaway is that this is another good descriptor of why white people have no culture :
NRT maintains that rather than relying on learned expectations or prediction, musical experiences arise from the brain’s natural oscillations that sync with rhythm, melody and harmony. This resonance shapes our sense of timing, musical pleasure and the instinct to move with the beat.
Just consuming other cultures while repressing everything through joyless religiosity and wondering why they have no ‘rhythm, melody and harmony… sense of timing …and the instinct to move with the beat’
lol what do you expect them to say? “Golly thanks for destroying the biosphere. Im so glad the ocean is spanned with floating garbage and commercial nets, there used to be pesky fish everywhere!”
I believe the term is “squeeeee”!
Thank you, kind robot.
Miigwech for sharing -the article and the websites all linked from there are incredible! I grew up on Ojibwe lands, and enjoy the opportunity to learn more about Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, Sioux and other regional cultures. I’ve been trying to learn Anishnaabemowin - and I love seeing things written in Dakota script (apologies- not sure what to properly call it)- there’s so much cultural depth and history to the region and i enjoy these types of articles that tie things together
