It looks beautiful and it sounds like it could be affordable. This kind of thing really excites me.

However I have some questions about the design.

Those ceramic tiles look really cool. They seem to be burnished on the outside. He talks about the cure time being really quick but wouldn’t you still have to fire them? Many kilns wouldn’t fit something that large.

Another thought is that this seems like it would be terribly insulated. Like wouldn’t the ceramic be conductive? I doubt the hemp fibers alone is enough of a thermal block. There might be insulation between 2 layers of tile but the ceramic frame itself seems like it would not be great. I wonder if it would be possible to use timber for the frame?

I also think realistically, you need at least one large flat wall for things like an electrical panel/sub panel and battery banks. In the current configuration, the small dome seems like this is less suitable for a home and more for storage or maybe a green house assuming it doesn’t get too cold inside. Maybe it could be improved if it was semi subterranean or had a heat sink like a fish pond?

That’s true if you are only concerned about microplastics.

What this article states however is that dangerous chemicals might leach out from many black colored plastics without any heat being applied. And it can be from things that you might not be able to control like restaurant takeout containers farming planters, and children’s toys.

I do think the type of plastic might also play a role, like if it’s PP, HDPE, etc. But I have yet to read the study quoted in the article.

I think those codes depend on the state and it may depend if it is empty or if a child lives with you but even if there were a fence, they are normally pretty flimsy and meant to keep young children from getting in unsupervised. A ride on lawnmower is going to tear though one super easily.

I think one of the two most beneficial things that could be done for America would be to enact a proper living wage that is in line with inflation. Not only would that help the minimum wage workers but it would also increase tax revenue.

However the best way to increase the tax revenue would be to tax the rich. Either way, Trump would definitely not do either.
