Now THAT’S something we can regulate - politicians
Now THAT’S something we can regulate - politicians
And if he loses, ban him again for saying something malicious and appear to be doing diligence
Reeks of governmental intervention
To be fair he only gutted social programs and only gave some of it to the wealthy. The rest went to the military budget. Federal spending ballooned under Reagan!
Rural people are a minority. If we went 100% “just do what the majority wants” that doesn’t ever work out for minorities. All minorities need protection, so there is sound intent in the design. It SHOULD work out that minority has a voice. But in practice it’s pretty crappy. It needs reworked. Starting with gerrymandering.
Yes fight for better blue candidates. But don’t stop voting against Red. What red has done with healthcare is murder.
I wish every article were written this way. Here’s argument one. Here’s the real data. Here’s argument 2. Here’s the real data. Here’s are some comparisons to other states, how they did it, and what happened.
Keep point/counter point going until you get the defensive “I don’t care what Montana did. This is Colorado.” Ugh.
I agree. The presumption is that us City folk wouldn’t properly protect rural interest. Which is fair. But doesn’t mean they deserve equal power
Nougat, I was replying to the comment that suggested that the number of votes should represent population. So I was replying that’s what the house of reps is for, not the Senate.
I think it’s more about the right leaning people who vote less when they see their ring wing nut guy actively working against their interest, and voting more when they’re riled up. An opportunity to vilify Biden is voters to the booths. Getting them angry at the left is their only strategy
In the Senate (where this vote happened), every state gets two people regardless of population.
House of reps you get a number of reps based on population
That’s what the house of representatives… represents.
Though California should be something like 3 states by now.
Unfortunately, the aid would help people and save lives. Then, Texas leaders would accuse Biden of wasting taxpayer money, call it a political stunt and photo op, say “we didn’t need the government’s help, we are Texas!”.
And then there’s no way to convince Texans that people would have died without their help. Biden would be vilified for helping. And as much as you might think, “he still needed to do it because helping the people is more important than optics”, the long term result is losing votes, losing power, then never being able to help ever again.
My bias is with education. Given that, please know that we only get one side of the story in this article. If they literally called the police and cuffed a ten year old for drawing a picture on the previous day, this is the most insane story I’ve ever heard.
But there was likely some shit that went down when she was called into the office that escalated and escalated, because escalating for a NOW solution that fits in a box is all some people know how to do. And then police are called. We’re all too busy, so it’s STOP AND COMPLY OR ELSE because every other solution takes time.
Keep going back to the roots and you find a bullied ADHD kid who is getting in trouble instead of the kid bullying her all while she was practicing self control strategies. She’s obviously going to escalate. And she was then likely already escalated when police arrived. And shit, we need to stop and figure out why this bully situation even exists.
More money to education. More people. The end
YOU’RE RIGHT I mixed them up!
Thanks for coming I guess
“We have finally figured out a way to pass this law with a big enough loophole for us all to continue to partake in all of the insider trading we want through other family members or our bagmen. I mean lawyers.”
Honestly though, Merkley on board is actually a great sign in my opinion.
Here are the details of his surprisingly active involvement in the attack:

Also of note:
Johnston was a voice actor on Fox’s “Bob’s Burgers” but was reportedly fired after it was confirmed that he was at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Then tie up any opposition in the court system for as many years as you need
I’m betting on libertarian
