They don’t really care if people in protests live or die as long as they can stroke their each others prejudices.

US was built on genocide, opression, slavery and immigrants. This vile attempt to somehow shield yourself from “messages” that offend you is what led to this mess.

They were obviously ecstatic when Hongkong protest for democracy were waving US flags like it meant freedom and liberty. It was all awesome and sent good messages, but now, es no bueno.

So much propaganda that people are worried about the “message” than actual history.

  • the issue is portability. Should I use a password manager’s passkey or the OS’s. What about wanting to login with a passkey on a different machine with a different OS. Every implementation is trying to fight to be used. I don’t remember them allowing multiple passkeys for login, do they?

Finally, if you really care, you don’t want Google/Apple/Microsoft “cloud” to hold your keys when they offer it with their devices. For when your account gets whacked for no reason/device gets lost or stolen, or broken, all your “worry” will start worrying.

There’s much to worry about unless you only ever use a single device.

You don’t have any evidence of that though do you

A lot of kids who follow her probably changed to a more sustainable, more environment friendly lifestyle. And I see a lot more young people veering towards sustainable projects.

But I guess that won’t make a nice and easy graph for you. Does it?

I don’t particularly like her, but I have a problem with people downplaying and demeaning activism. It’s so rampant on reddit in any kind of protest post that doesn’t blow up to front page, you would almost feel they’re being targeted to lessen their reach. Just deflecting, derailing, demeaning any chance they get. The astroturfing is insane.

As long as they’re not making off money for themselves, hiding nefarious intent behind a cause, then getting sponsored and bought, let them do their activism for good.

  • Reddit at this point a psyop for multiple different countries, political parties, celebrities, influenzars and such. US, Israel, China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and others have Internet task force to push propaganda and limit negative PR.

Votes aren’t public in reddit and is a great cover for hiding any coordinated influence. Keep creating new accounts, make it seem natural by posting on random subs, use old accounts for posts/comments and new accounts for votes. To an unsuspecting user, nothing seems out of ordinary.

On ActivityPub all votes are public and manipulation can be detected or analyzed now or in future. Instance admins could check this and see a pattern. And there are many many many instances, so any one might run into something.

Also mod logs are public in lemmy, unlike reddit. Censorship from mods and admins are already a constant cause for drama but makes it a lot more transparent for the community.

So it’s less influential. So, they try to dissuade people from making Lemmy and Mastodon less interesting.

I’m not saying it’s not possible here, but it’s too early and needs a lot more work than reddit. People already do not interact with users from instances they dislike. You already see some patterns in how users of instance behave and avoid them.
