The Sheriff of Nottingham was that character I loved to hate. He could be so sleazy and it was hilarious watching all the townsfolk react when he’d show up pretending to be likeable. His design and voice acting made him one of my favorite characters in the movie.

Highfive! I’ve tried to have other favorites, but it just never works. Little Mermaid might be tied with it for me, but Robin Hood is just so much more quotable, and despite how much Walt Disney despised it, I love the “sketchy” look of the animation in Robin Hood and other “Xerox Era” Disney films.

      I love[d] Pogo’s stuff!

Edit: I’m getting really tired of having to try and separate so many artists from their art. Good grief. Kudos to all the artists out there that manage to be generally decent toward their fellow humans, it’s sincerely appreciated.

You haven’t heard about his comments on women and LGBT people, huh? Hard for me to listen to him these days. Which sucks because I liked his music.

Lots of misogynistic comments, but what did it for me was a video he put out saying he had a “fairly robust hatred of the gay community” and praised the Orlando Pulse nightclub shootings saying he thought it was fantastic that the West was welcoming a culture that wants gays dead.

He has never apologized. All he did was try a half assed explanation saying he was just doing an impersonation of a right-winger, but it was a pretty obvious lie and even the person interviewing him didn’t think he was at all being sincere.

MacDraw was one of my favorite things about my first Mac. One thing I loved about it was that you could set up mirrors across the canvas and make really neat designs really quickly. I’ve not seen a drawing program with something similar since.

Whoa, I’m going to have to look into that! I’ve never actually done a deep dive into any of the program’s features beyond the basic stuff. I did learn earlier today while putting together a rough animation of my Vivi picture that there’s a rotate tool, which I was relieved to discover. Great for those times when something just seems slightly off-angle and it would be annoying to adjust every point manually to fix it. (I used it on the Sheriff’s nose for this drawing.)

I’m using Mini vMac, a great little old Macintosh emulator. https://www.gryphel.com/c/minivmac/

I started out just getting my nostalgia fix, then realized I still really enjoy using MacDraw just like when I was a kid so I’ve kept going back to it whenever I get the itch to draw something.
