All they’ve done is cover their ass, no steps have been taken to ensure this shit doesn’t happen to someone else, if anything, it normalises this kind of defence, because worst case, there’s just a relatively small “fine” to pay, no disciplinary action, not even a 2 hour “seminar” on rape culture and its influence on the “justice” system.
