What a jackass… and died young (aged 57)

So anyone that followed his theory about life is probably wrong. The idea that god only wanted us to live one way is such a fucking farce and is probably the number one cause of suffering.

thankfully someone added sugar and cinnamon to those things. Cause Graham Crackers are pretty awesome

A strange character in that he preached some ideas that were correct (excessive meat eating is a major cause of health issues) but also a lot of crazy/harmful stuff. It is a satisfying metaphor that his namesake cracker lives on as a dessert- all it needed to be a classic was a little bit of pleasure thrown in

The excessive meat eating is also something that should be parsed, because not all meat is the same. It’s all about lifestyle and activities, especially when you’re diet is meat based. My heritage is Lakota and they were famous for being fierce warriors, skilled in many ways, while their diet was mostly bison meat turned into pemmican.

I was a vegetarian for 15 years but the turkey, salmon, trout, and buffalo just called me in ways no other meat has. Chicken, cow, and pig taste good but also sometimes taste like pain and suffering.

All in moderation and never taking more than I need, that good medicine.

Now now, to be fair about him dying young:

"Graham died of complications after receiving opium enemas, as directed by his doctor, at the age of 57 at home in Northampton, Massachusetts. His early death was the source of criticism and speculation.[31] Historian Stephen Nissenbaum has written that Graham died “after violating his own strictures by taking liquor and meat in a last desperate attempt to recover his health”.[32]

Russell Trall, who had visited Graham, noted that he had strayed from a strict vegetarian diet and was prescribed meat by his doctor to increase his blood circulation.[31] Trall wrote that before his death Graham regretted this decision and “fully and verily believed in the theory of vegetable diet as explained in his works”.[31]

      Meat? Veggies?

Or could it just possibly be the Opium Enemas? And how’s that for a band name?
