This means they’re afraid. Good.
It means they’re going to riot regardless of who wins and try to ratfuck every election with a modicum of doubt.
Didn’t work the first time. Won’t work the second time either because literally everyone will be ready and prepared for that, unlike last time.
Didn’t work the first time.
It did work the first time. The Brooks Brothers’ Riots secured the presidency for George Bush Jr.
During the J6 riots, Congress was being evacuated within minutes of the rioters storming the capital. Had a bunch of Senators gotten pinned down in an office, they wouldn’t have been able to ratify Biden hours later from a secure location and Trump’s friends in the state legislatures and the courts would have enjoyed more room to reverse the election results.
Won’t work the second time either because literally everyone will be ready and prepared for that
Journalists were predicting the J6 riot days before it actually happened. My wife signed up for Telegram the day before because she was curious about all the reports, and got to watch events play out in real time from the perspective of live-streamers. The Capital Police either fumbled the ball because of raw incompetence or deliberately understaffed the venue to enable rioters to raid the building. In either case, nothing has changed to suggest they can’t do that shit again.
That’s assuming the Republicans don’t go back to the more tried-and-true method of a GOP governor in a purple state using the pretext of a riot in a blue district to stop counting votes while the Republican has the lead. This is almost what happened in Georgia and Arizona. It could easily happen again.
No, “Hanging Chad”, and the idiocy to preserve norms and just concede instead of challenging the election results in Florida and other states is how GBJ got into office.
Abruptly ending the counting was a predicate for all of that.
Remember that Trump had a 150,000 vote lead when he tried to shut down the recount in Pennsylvania. And that state ended up +80,000 for Biden. Florida came down to just above 400 votes before the riot shut down the ballot counting process.
327 votes, actually, but that just makes your point stronger. If they hadn’t stopped the recount with a riot (and also a friendly Florida AG and friendly US Supreme Court), there’s no such thing as President George W Bush.
Gore’s campaign didn’t have to reject Jesse Jackson’s people who were protesting on their behalf like they did, but they did at least challenge the results by litigating them all the way up to the supreme court. Of course, the problem is that the supreme court sucks.
I didn’t think this was possible, but Chris LaCivita might be an even more disgusting deceptive bullshitter than the orange asshole he’s advising
Also, make no mistake - the Republicans will be trying to steal this election
Are…they will be tol but they currently are trying too
Already election tampering… Trump is suing Michigan to block voter registration sites…
It “undermines the integrity of elections by increasing the opportunity for individuals to register to vote even though they are ineligible to do so.”
…How?
Yeah …I read a really good book ironically titled “How Trump Stole the 2020 Election” that spends most of its time exposing all of the voter expulsion and how it’s primarily targeting dense democratic leaning areas. The current Governor of Georgia won by less than 100,000 votes but as the Secretary of State he purged 400,000 legitimate registered voters.
Let’s put aside the fact that as the Secretary of State his job was to add registered voters… The game plan was to send a postcard that look like junk mail with lots of tiny legalese meant to be discarded. Essentially if someone didn’t vote on two consecutive elections and lived in a “transient” location they were deregistered.
I can’t find a picture of the form but here’s a story on it …https://www.apmreports.org/story/2018/10/19/georgia-voter-purge
I think the bad logic here is that the more sites there are the more likely one of them is improperly follow procedures.
As if a few improper registrations invalidate the thousands of other legitimate ones.
Moreover - fewer registration sites means the remaining ones have to deal with more voters, meaning they will be busier and more hectic, meaning more mistakes will happen. The “fewer sites = fewer mistakes” argument only works if the only “mistake” you care about is someone registering who shouldn’t and don’t think someone who should being unable to registe is a problem.
Convicted criminals aren’t allowed to vote…hmmmmmm
Are we doing this again?
Yep. THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. AGAIN. FOR SOME REASON.
Honestly. I can not fathom how fucking stupid republiQans are.
FOR SOME REASON.
How many of the perpetrators of the attempt to hijack the 2020 election are actually going to jail?
You mean the seditionist terrorists? Or the fake electors.
Take your pick.
The fake electors and their financiers and lawyers are the root of the problem, the dumbasses they got to bumrush the capitol were just disposable shock troops (who also definitely deserve their jail cells, but that’s just treating symptoms instead of the disease)
The Brooks Brothers Rioters were fundamental to Bush Jr’s win. And quite a few of them went on to infest future administrations.
Roger Stone continued to ratfvck for the party for the next quarter century. Rory Cooper continues to work as a ranking political strategist for the RNC. Matt Schlapp even became Trump’s Political Director.
I guarantee you that they all had their hands in the fake elector scandal to some degree.
Buy guns.
