Being real though, not everyone knows how devastating Rowling is.

When that’s the case, and all you’re aware of is that she’s an asshole, it doesn’t seem like a big deal to be three or four steps away from her.

You can’t do a project like that and not have some kind of fuckery involved at some level, so actors get used to just accepting that there’s always going to be an asshole connected to their role. So, if they don’t get it, exactly how dangerous she is, it isn’t any different than signing onto a project started by Weinstein or someone like him. When every producer or financier has a high probability of being a shit stain, even if you don’t know it, what’s the difference? You either accept the industry as dirty, or you stop acting.

This guy is just a mid tier actor, and he’s already saying he doesn’t agree with her. The rest is about that line where he may not be aware of how bad she is.

Honestly, Felton didn’t say anything horrible either. He just stated that he can appreciate the good the books and the movies did, and be glad she wrote term. That’s just another version of separating art and artist. No matter what the subject is, that’s something that every individual has to decide. Can you separate it? If you can, how much are you willing to contribute to the artist’s empowerment?

Me? I’d just as soon put a bullet in Rowling and call it a day. Even that isn’t going to win hearts and minds; but, remove her been the equation, and nobody gives two flying fucks about the fact that she was the writer, just the same and nobody gives two fucks about Lovecraft being a racist. Nobody really cares about John Lennon being an abusive jackass.

In sixty years, nobody will care what she was like because she’ll be just a name.

But I’m not going to shit on actors that can separate art and artist. Nor am I going to shit on someone that’s a potential ally in the big picture just because they don’t see the connection between working on a current project and empowering a douchebag to carry out their hate. Well, I’ll shit on them for being too dumb to see it, but that’s a different matter

Except along the axis of money, the one axis that undermines all other forms and performative displays of resistance.

When asked if he fears the debate over Rowling may overshadow the series, Frost said, “I don’t know,” adding: “But maybe it shouldn’t blow over? We shouldn’t just hope it will go away, because it makes it easier. Maybe we should educate ourselves.”

Representatives for Rowling did not comment on the matter when reached by Variety.

I’m probably gonna get flamed for this, but I have no idea who this actor is. Meaning it’s fairly likely he takes jobs that pay because that’s how he supports himself.

People still go to work for companies like Amazon, Google, and Tesla etc. I can understand and fully agree with boycotting new media based off a world created by a bigoted asshole. I can’t dig flaming working actors who probably can’t just pass up the work.

Edit: Never mind. I didn’t recognize the name but I do know the actor. I retract most of what I said.

I hope all involved don’t get a day in peace. And yes he agrees with her views, because even knowing who she is still took her money and helping her enrich herself further.
