I think this is a bad idea, and I don’t want it, but the one upside is it might help me finally understand the game’s storyline…

In the volcano area, I found a random message in the middle of nowhere, that simply read :
“Seek the Elden Ring Or something…”
To this day I’m convinced it’s the most practical summary of the game and the player motivations. It also made me giggle a lot for no reason.

Fair point, I’ll revise my statement. Everything Everywhere All At Once was objectively good.
I can see an Elden Ring movie happening but… A24? The only way this could work is either if it’s animated (it’s not) or if it’s going to be incredibly high budget.
There is potential this could be good because there are a lot of stories that could be told before the shattering, but I’m not optimistic.
Civil War had the largest budget of any A24 film previously. This will probably tie or break that record.

Really. I haven’t played the game, but if I heard there was a movie I’d be disinterested. Having Alex garland attached immediately makes me interested. I know the game is grr Martin, so I assume there is the bones of a great world and story to tell.
150 minutes of parrying, dodge rolling, and running away
The only way most people experience the full game content is to watch someone else play it so a movie is just putting a price tag on that.
This is going to piss me off so much… Please God let this get cancelled…
