“So they’re going to get millions of dollars but the woman, the wife, this beautiful woman, I handed her the check—we handed her the check—and she said, ‘This is so nice, and I appreciate it, but I’d much rather have my husband.’ Now I know some of the women in this room wouldn’t say the same,” Trump reportedly said. “At least four couples here would have been thrilled, actually.”

I’m so glad my projected lifespan overlaps with an extended period where the boomer generation functionally no longer exists.

I have, and there are. It’s just that on average, boomers tend to be shittier than silent, Gen X, Gen Y (millennials), Gen Z, and Gen α. More entitled, less self-aware, less empathetic, less willing to learn or at least accept new concepts, less humble, less informed, and more bigoted. Boomers are very, very lucky that they have a sizeable contingent of hippies to buoy their reputation.

Must be a slow news day. It’s just your run of the mill “I hate my wife xD” boomer humor jokes mixed with a dash of “lmfao poor people amiright” snobbery. Oh wooooow Donald Tump is a narcissistic elitist asshole that hates his fans behind close doors - how is this new information?

If you only reported on new information, you’d never be able to recognize patterns in repeated behavior. I personally think it’s important to document it all so there’s no excuse for anyone to say “I didn’t know”.

It’s an old, old story, certainly, but every time it’s re-told I can at least imagine a few of the mental-sleepwalkers might wake up.

The recording, obtained by The Guardian, apparently comes from a private meal Trump held Aug. 10 in Aspen, Colorado. In it, the Republican presidential nominee reportedly recalled a meeting with the wife of Corey Comperatore, the man who was killed by shots fired at Trump by Thomas Crooks at a Pennsylvania rally in July.

I thought it would be worse, but it’s still shitty. Gramps Trump uses a widow of his loyal supporter as a set up for his boomer-humor ‘wife bad’ punchline. I’m not the target audience, but I guess it’s hard not to have a blank face after hearing that.
