I wonder that myself. Someone didn’t double check the QR code before sending it into production… but you’d think a huge company like Mattel would have some SOPs for this kind thing.

There seems to be a commenter on the article that is saying it’s a Western Digital firmware issue and not a Windows issue.

It’s NOT a Windows issue. It’s an SSD firmware issue.

Linux developers encountered this firmware bug back in 2022.
