Bought it and kept it secret from his dad for two years to surprise him with it when it was brought back to life. Baller move right there, love it.

It’s amazing how much emotion we invest in our cars. I had a not very expensive but fairly unique car in my late teens. Eventually, I joined the adult world, moved away, and it sat in storage for years before being given away.

Now I’m much older, in a vastly different place in life, and generally successful and happy. I’d still sell my left testicle to get that car back, though. Not so much because of the car itself, but because of the memories. It feels like a lost photo album or that one song that just sounded perfect but you can’t remember the artist or the lyrics.

"We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower.

    We’re talkin’ some fuckin’ muscle."

I wish I could do this for my dad. When he was young his favorite car was a little British roadster from the 60’s (he never owned it). I can finally maybe afford one.

But he already has a BMW Z4, and his joints and balance aren’t so good anymore so he struggles to get into that. He’d have the same problems, plus nowhere to keep it unless he sold the Z4. And I’m reticent to spend the money due to what we’ll euphemistically call changes happening in the US.

His dad knew it was time to let the babe magnet go. He’d become a father and started a family - the babe magnet was no longer appropriate. It’s even less so when he is 60-70 and can’t even put it to use if he tried.
