Much of the pro-Putin coverage that depicts the Los Angeles area as “apocalyptic,” Cherkasov said.
But he noted that some broadcasters in the United States have been using similar language, at least some of the time.
Someone correct me on this, but didn’t the Russian intelligence apparatus know what subtlties were in the past? or did they always take a victory lap in public before the fix was in?

The audacity itself is a destabilizing action. Kind of like how Putin has hinted in public statements that he helped rig the 2016 elections and that he and Trump have close ties. He wants to break down trust in our system from all sides, not just one.
