I’ve tried to get GamesDoneQuick to at least bridge their Bluesky account to Mastodon, but no luck

They took forever just to make their Bluesky account as an alternative to their Twitter

People only care about what tool has the most immediate utility to them. Mastodon is slightly harder to use than Twitter or Bluesky so Mastodon categorically can never see widespread use under our current society.

Some people in the fediverse have decided that’s ok, and say they don’t want normies here.

You seem to feel the opposite. As such, you must accept that nothing will change until we make it exactly as easy to sign up and use as something like Twitter.

Step 1: enter email and password Step 2: start browsing

Any attempt to add a step in-between is doomed to failure. Unless you’re suggesting we upend all of society. A morally correct goal, but if that’s your goal you’re a fucking moron for caring about mastodon at all because it is completely inconsequential and almost certainly will never be relevant because as it stands it’s a solution in search of a problem

Hi i’m stepping up as a mod.

While your point is valid, you didn’t need to go that far. Just tell us where in your opinion Mastodon is lacking compared to twitter and bluesky and it will be enough.

Please Can you edit your post and remove the “fucking moron”.

      Thank you. :)

Not to mention any attempt at making a reasonable argument is completely undermined by ending it with “… and anyone who disagrees with me is a fucking moron”. Makes it hard to agree even for someone who is fundamentally sympathetic to the point being made.

In this case, it’s important to respect each other choice and using strong language doesn’t help for discussion.

I want to create a good place where we can share our point of view : i agree, i disagree, that’s why i believe that…and i don’t need strong language for that. 😊

I don’t censorship, that’s not my stance on moderation. I prefer explaining and inviting people to edit their post and apologizing. I’m also doing mistake. 😊

I value your argument and time.

Otherwise, i would delete his/her comment and write “strong language”. It would be quickier, but they won’t change and we would miss an good contribution.

However, on other case, i simply delete or ban. I hope you will understand 😊
