I’d say so! I’ve been after more like both honestly.
Best I can say is look at the filmographies of creators and directors Keiichi Sato and Kazuyoshi Katayama, respectively. Sato considers it his magnum opus, but they’ve both gone on to do a lot of other work.
I’d suggest both Balance: Unlimited and Undead Murder Farce.
