So compiling the code could be pretty difficult.

    Is it actually missing the engine? That looked like it was there when I skimmed a couple of the repos

    Missing assets is pretty common when they open source commercial games, the rights of the art is often more complicated than just doing the game code.

    OpenRA existed since a long time - You could play in 4k on modern windows since many years. EA didn’t do anything revolutionary really

      Now what’s missing is where will all the fans and modders hang around :-)

      I sure hope we’ll get some nice rehashing out of this!

      About the graphics, someone will probably make a ripper of the bought copy you have, a bit like Diablo 1.

    I wonder how hard it would be to make some minimal placeholder resources/assets, sufficient to build the game and for it to run, even if it won’t look good or be particularly playable.
