A group of my wife’s friends spent a day tubing down a river once. My wife loaned a pair of flip-flops to a girl who hadn’t brought appropriate footwear for the occasion. When we got to the end of the river, the flip-flops were gone.
She said one of them fell off in the river, and she couldn’t retrieve it in time. When my wife inquired about the other one, her friend said she’d thrown it towards the first one, just in case anyone found it.
